The principal jeweler at the Wedding Ring Workshop for the Seattle area is our distinguished metalsmith, Jennifer (Jena) Hounshell. With a fine art background, Jennifer's non-traditional approach to jewelry blends her historical knowledge with her technical ability in the creation of conceptual and personal pieces. She views metalsmithing as an archaelogical dig, exploring layers of technical, social, and design history.
With her patient guidance, the process of making each other’s rings offers you the opportunity to add your personal history as the primary layer, using your own hands to craft your feelings for each other into a symbol of your union. Her sensitivity to this sentiment ensures a memorable experience that will last a lifetime. Jennifer received a BFA in Metal Design at the University of Washington, under the instruction of MaryLee Hu and was awarded the 2005 Marilyn Werby Rabinovitch Memorial Purchase Award. She is currently Head of the Casting Department for a jewelry foundry in Seattle. Jennifer also serves on the board of the Seattle Metals Guild.

The
Wedding Ring Experience was first created in London
as the result of a challenge thrown down by our founder,
Simon Lewis, in the locker room of his Rugby football
team after a game! Knowing of his fine reputation and
artistic skill as a jeweler, one of his team-mates asked
Simon if he would make the wedding bands for him and
his bride. Jokingly, Simon replied “Why don't you make
them yourself? I'll show you how.” The rest, as they
say - is history.
